The picture on the left is intentionally left small. It shows two wind turbines--one in front of the other. Both wind turbines are mounted on 100 foot towers. The wind turbine in the fore front has its rotor turning very fast. The rotor is turning so fast that a 35 mm camera cannot stop the blades in flight. The rear wind turbine has the whole rotor furled backwards. |

This machines is furled--even though the wind turbine is still pointing upwind. Notice the wind turbine that has its blades furled also has stopped turning. Wind turbines that furl will either slow down or stop all entirely. This machine could also be braked. |
